Feature: Early Stage Journal

Cache Depot was featured by Early Stage Journal

We were featured by Early Stage Journal in a story about why Cache Depot exists and how we’re trying to make storage make more sense in Vancouver.

Read the feature here: How Vancouver’s Cache Depot is reinventing the self-storage industry

The storage problem that kicked this off

Cache Depot started with a painfully normal situation: we needed to store one big item, but the only real option was renting an entire storage unit and paying for a bunch of empty space we didn’t need.

So we built an alternative: storage priced around what your items actually use, not a one-size-fits-all unit.

How we do storage differently

Instead of handing you a unit and a hallway maze, we run a warehouse-style storage depot where items are professionally stored on racks/shelves/pallets (and wrapped when needed). You can store by item or by the space your stuff takes up.

Early Stage Journal also called out something we see all the time: a big chunk of our customers are first-time storage users — people who wouldn’t bother with traditional self-storage at all if this option didn’t exist.

Thanks for telling the story

Big thanks to Early Stage Journal for covering Cache Depot and capturing both the “why” and the scrappy early days.
